Brief Job Description

At the SPEC Centre we have a large residential team delivering a high number of programmes, retreats and outreach programmes to young people. We work closely with schools and parish groups. The majority of our work takes place in the SPEC Centre which accommodates up to 120 guests. SPEC also works off-site particularly in school missions/outreach and retreat programmes.

PERSON ESSENTIALS

• Experienced and gifted group facilitator
• Committed Roman Catholic
• Willingness to be a part of a young lay community
• Understands an Holistic approach to Youth Ministry
• Can lead and work in a team
• Relevant experience of residential work
• Motivated and organised
• Understands youth culture and relevant faith/life issues of young people

Non-essential/ preferred:

• has a keen interest in music and liturgy and/or outdoor activities
• is creative and can use multi-media

Programme leader training and other training opportunities will be available.

MAIN TASKS:

• Facilitate and lead residential and day programmes
• Lead a small team of volunteers on programmes
• Liaise with leaders of groups visiting about their programme
• Create and develop new ideas for sessions and prayers

SALARY:

£12, 000 - £18,000 per annum dependent on experience and qualifications
