There a many flexible programmes and retreats on offer for school year groups and parish groups. Some programmes can be tailored to a specific group’s needs. SPEC works alongside R.E staff, Senior Management, Chaplaincy Staff, and Heads of Year to develop a strategy for the spiritual development of a school community. Staff Inset days are available and SPEC also visits schools through their Outreach Programme.

SPEC provides a range of holistic programmes for ages 14 - 25. Programme features include: Music + Liturgy, Creative Arts, Multimedia, Prayer, Reflection, Outdoor Activities + Team Building.

Programmes are tailored to your school, parish, or group’s needs. Relevant issues effecting young people are addressed and programmes have been created for different age and year groups.

  • 2-4 night residential retreats for Years 10, 11, 12, 13
  • Day retreat programmes for 30 – 80 people
  • Conference Days for 6th Form + Year 11
  • Leadership Days for 6th Form + Year 11
  • Induction Courses for 6th Form
  • A-Level Study Courses
  • Inter-school Retreats
  • Staff Inset Days and Retreats


Parish Programmes on offer:

  • Confirmation Residential Retreat programmes for young people (14+)
  • Confirmation Day Retreats
  • Post-Confirmation Retreats
  • Visits to – youth groups, confirmation groups, Parish and other young people’s events
  • Training and support for Parish Youth Ministry
  • “Born for This” – a powerful reflection on the Stations of the Cross using music and drama
  • Music and Liturgy weekends to encourage young people to use their gifts in the life of the Christian community

Throughout the year, the centre offers many events and training opportunities for young people:

  • Brightlights Festival for 16 – 30 year olds
  • Ecumenical Events for young people
  • Training days for Youth Leaders
  • Youth Masses
  • Open retreats for Young People
  • Opportunities to work on the SPEC Service Team – undertaking voluntary work at the SPEC (16+)

 

MISSION and OUTREACH Programmes

SPEC can also offer week long Missions in Diocesan schools, as well as follow-up programmes. A Mission or Outreach usually consists of the SPEC Team visiting a school and running a week long programme that can consist of professional dramas, prayer experiences, class visits and sessions, reconciliation services, and liturgies.
